Best Man And The Night Before The Wedding Day
The night before the wedding day is very special for the groom and the bride. And it’s equally important for the others who are involved in the wedding in some way or the other. Take the example of the best man. He is probably busy than anybody else making sure that he performs the duties and responsibilities of the best man with perfection. His foremost duty is to help he groom in all kinds of expected and unexpected circumstances. Obviously the best man speech is one of the many duties he has to take care of but definitely not the only one. Here’s a list of things a best man should check -
- Call the florist and verify if he is ready with the order for the boutonnières and make sure they are available before time.
- Are the tuxedos in place? If not ensure that you don’t have to look for them just before you are going to wear them. If the tuxes were borrowed make sure you don’t have to worry about them.
- It’s important that the groom has sufficient clothing ready in his wardrobe and it’s the responsibility of the best man to make sue that every thing is in place. And don’t forget to check that the groom has the right pair of shoes because he would really hate to discover that his shoes are of wrong size just before he leaves for the church.
- If it’s your responsibilities to arrange for the video photographer, don’t forget to call him and remind him of tomorrow’s assignment.
- Double check the wedding rings. They should be in your custody and please make it available to the groom whenever he needs it.
- It’s absolutely vital that the limo or the taxi arrives right on time. Do they have the detail information about the location? You should call and confirm the status.
- Ask the groom if he has the honeymoon documents ready with him? The flight bookings, passports, Debit and Credit cards, (if he is travelling abroad) hotel accommodations and everything else – this is the last time you should both check if they are in order.
- You should also ask the groom if he is done with the honeymoon packing and offer to help if he is yet to get it done.
- These are the common duties you are expected to perform the day or night before the wedding. But often there are unforeseen incidences where the groom might seek your help or you may offer to volunteer even if there isn’t any formal request from the groom’s side.
By now you should realized why I keep telling you all (the best men), why it is important that you should get ready with your best man speeches at least a couple of week before the wedding. You will find it harder and harder to prepare for it as the wedding day gets closer and closer. However, on the night before the wedding day, when you are done with everything else just go through your best man speech at least for a couple of times so that you could have the feeling that you are ready with your best man speech and sleep the night through happily.
