My Take on Joint Best Man Speech
A joint best man speech is not what you could see at a wedding speech. Joint best man speeches would mean that there is more than one best man and that’s not typical at a wedding. The groom generally chooses his best friend or brother to be his best man and support him during the wedding. But sometimes the groom might not be able to make a choice between two of his best friends and requests both to be the best man. I used the word two since I m yet to attend a wedding where there are more than two best men. Wonder how a group of best men would be like. Well, there are groomsmen who sometimes give a speech or toast the newlyweds but here we are talking about two or more men standing side by side and giving a best man speech together. In my honest opinion, when it comes to a joint best man speech, I don’t think having more than two to three guys with the mic is a good idea. If you must give a joint best man speech, ideally it should be no more than just two best men addressing the audience.
A joint best man speech would require a lot more than a normal best man speech – the two best men should prepare for their speech individually and jointly. Once both of them agree on the content of the speech they should rehearse together for several time until they both feel that they are complementing each other perfectly.
