Best Man Wedding Speeches Reviewed

Recently I did a review of the Best Man Wedding Speeches by Dan Stevens. If you didn’t read the review already, I urge you to go and read it especially if you are a best man and trying to put together a best man speech which you are going to deliver during the coming weekend on your best friend’s wedding.

A best man speech or any wedding speech for that matter, is all about conceiving an idea which tells you what exactly you want to include in your speech and then turning that into a speech by putting your thoughts together and writing them on a piece of paper.  That should be the workflow of  successful best man speeches.

But the problem is very few of us are willing to take some time out of busy (and not so busy) schedule, sit down for a while and patiently put down our ideas on paper. There is no shortage of best man speech resources all over the internet and you don’t have to pay a dime for most of them. But the information is scattered (you can’t expect them to be pre-customized for you) and you still need some time to sit and sort them and then stitch the bits and pieces together to produce “your” best man speech. Believe me, it’s easier than you might expect it to be. But some of you will still find it hard for whatever reason they might have.

So, what’s the solution? Just hire some body who will deliver the best man speech for you, what else ? Just kidding, but imagine how great that would have been. You can’t hire a dummy best man but can always hire somebody to either write it for you or help you write your own. Dan Stevens is one such professional and his Best Man Wedding Speech Guide is an exceptionally good resource which really helps a best man get prepared for his speech in a relatively short period of time.

You can read the full Best Man Wedding Speeches Review to get the whole picture. And should you be willing to try the book right away you can find the link on the sidebar to your right.  >>

A Short Best Man Speech will make your life as a Best Man easier

Let me say it straight away, even though a best man speech is quite an attraction in any wedding ceremony, the audience is not too keen to hear a long boring speech unless it is exceptionally good. And that’s a huge advantage for majority of the best men especially who aren’t very fond of public speaking. There is hardly anybody who would want to sit though twenty minutes of flimflam. Particularly what all they really wish for is to head towards the bar at the earliest. To put it briefly, try keeping your best man speech short; shorting, straightforward but to the point.

When I mean short, I obviously don’t mean that you don’t want to just say “Hello”, throw a one liner and wrap up your speech by simply wishing the couple. But at the same time you also by no means would like to wander on and on. Hey, this day is not about you, remember?

So what exactly are the bare essentials that you might want to include in your best man speech ? Introduce yourself, thank the groom, say some thing funny (don’t try to manufacture) about the groom,  do not forget the bride and wrap up your best man speech wishing the couple a long and happy married life. Yes, if you have a couple of real witty jokes, consider using them to spice up your speech.

That isn’t too bad, is it? A short best man speech like that might just last for less than five minutes. But more importantly it is good for you as well as the audience.  Best wishes.

It’s important that you pick the right Best Man Speech Jokes

Best Man Speech JokesThere are several best man speech jokes that are available abundantly all over the internet. But it is very important that you include only the right kind of jokes jokes. If you happen to be the best man, bad jokes can spoil your day while real witty jokes can make the day for you. It depends on the groom ( his age and personality ) and what type of relation you share with him, the bride ( to some extent, yes ), the wedding reception gathering and over all mood and ambiance of the wedding reception party.

So, which are the best man speech jokes which you should look to include in your speech ? Well, first let us put it in this way – which are the wedding jokes that a best man should stay clear from ? Jokes that might hurt anybody’s feeling are to be avoided. I’ve read elsewhere that the writer is suggesting the best man that he sould not mention about the bride’s or the groom’s ex-boyfriends and girlfriends. Neither say filthy jokes that may ruin the spirit of the occassion. But if that happens blame it on the groom. He chose the wrong person who is everything but the best man.

Finally, I’ll list a few overused, wornout wedding jokes that are used by by hundreds best men before you so may not include them in your best man speec.  So, here’s a list of some of the most cliche best man speech jokes you should not include in your best man speech -

This is one of the typical best man speech jokes you might have come across – “The problem with being the best man is that you never get a chance to prove it.”

But here is the most cliché best man joke of all time – “If I am the best man here then why the heck is she (the bride) with John (the groom) and not with me?”

Here is another which is, well, a lot better than the two above – [ask the bride to put her hand on the table, and then ask the groom to put his hand on hers.]  Now say: “That is the last time you will have the upper hand.”

So, that’s what you should avoid to do. Now, if you are wondering which jokes are just perfect for you to use in your best man’s speech, please go and have a look at the Best Man Speech Jokes page elsewhere in this site.
